Bathurst Regional Art Gallery (BRAG) is thrilled to announce the appointment of Amanda Crews (pictured) as Director Museums and Art Gallery at Bathurst Regional Council. A values-driven leader with deep regional ties, Amanda brings a strong background in organisational transformation, financial management and strategic communication. Her career spans executive roles in government, higher education and corporate sectors, with a focus on audience engagement, stakeholder relationships and commercial opportunity.
“It’s a privilege to step into this role at such an important time for Bathurst’s cultural institutions,” Amanda said. “I come from outside the traditional gallery and museum pathway and bring complementary strengths in strategic leadership and transformation. I have enormous respect for the remarkable skills, knowledge and dedication of the existing team, who have continued to lead with excellence and grace during an interim period. My job is to support, amplify and advocate while helping to shape an exciting, sustainable future for our museums and gallery.”
BRAG is excited to work with Amanda as we welcome an ambitious new year of artistic programming in Central West NSW.
Join Amanda and BRAG on Saturday 7 February, 11am, to open new partnership exhibition Acts of Inheritance with Western Sydney’s We Are Studios–a 100% Disability-led, artist-run initiative. This Main Gallery exhibition will extend into the Bathurst CBD across BRAG’s Digital Platforms to showcase work by seventeen Disabled artists exploring identity as something lived, layered and continually remade.
