The Forbes Shire Council Heritage Advisory Committee will be presenting the play The Trial of Ben Hall written by Forbes solicitor Dominic Williams.
160 years since his death on 5 May, the play will be presented in the former St Andrews Church in Forbes on 2nd & 3rd August.
Due to overwhelming public interest, “The Trial of Ben Hall” will return to Forbes for these two encore performances. Following the successful show in May celebrating Ben Hall’s birthday, the immersive historical experience is being brought back for those who missed out.
The repeat shows offer another opportunity for the community and visitors to step back in time and witness the rowdy proceedings of the infamous bushranger’s trial that he never had. All proceeds from ticket sales will directly support The Forbes Historical Museum, aiding in their fundraising efforts to restore the verandah to Osborne Hall.
“We were thrilled with the turnout and the positive feedback from our May performances,” said Monica Wren from the Heritage Advisory Committee. “The demand for ‘The Trial of Ben Hall’ was so significant that we felt it was important to offer these extra dates. It’s a fantastic way to engage with our local history, with a local cast – while also supporting the incredible efforts of The Forbes Historical Museum.”
