A new exhibition at Orange Regional Museum dives into the making of the global hit videogame Untitled Goose Game.

A game of stealth and slapstick about a naughty goose on the loose in an unsuspecting village, Untitled Goose Game was created by Victorian developers House House and released in 2019 to worldwide acclaim.

The touring exhibition Honk! Untitled Goose Exhibition from Melbourne’s ACMI offers new insight into the creative development of the viral game sensation through displays of previously unseen concept art, sketches and design material.

Orange City Council’s Recreation and Culture Policy Committee Chair, Cr Tammy Greenhalgh says the exhibition has arrived just in time for the school holidays and gives audiences fresh insight into the game’s hilariously mischievous humour and development.

“This is an exhibition for the whole family, with playable displays and behind-the-scenes insights. Visitors can even play the game and find out for themselves why this game captured the hearts, minds and humour of children and adults alike,” Cr Greenhalgh said.

Curator Jini Maxwell says videogames are the most popular entertainment medium on the planet today.

“But how they are actually made is often shrouded in mystery. I am so grateful to House House for the rare access into their creative process. I am thrilled to invite visitors to play, honk and explore the artistic process behind such a beloved title,” Maxwell said.

The exhibition will run until 11 October 2026.
