Start at the junction of Main Street and Bridge Street (near the Union Theatre) and walk west along main street, being sure to keep your eyes on the laneways off each side for hidden artwork gems.
Lithgow’s main street, and immediate surrounds, is home to more than 20 artworks, from bronze sculptures, ceramics, large scale murals, and a secret laneway decorated with painted tiles. The Lithgow Street Art Walk brings together this diverse array of works and recognises the artists that have contributed to the culture of Lithgow’s Main St and surrounds.
Visit Lithgow City Library or Seven Valleys Information Centre for a printed copy of the Lithgow Street Art Walk and map.
This map initiative is the result of collaboration between Lithgow Tidy Towns, Lithgow City Council and Maldhan Ngurr Ngurra Lithgow Transformation Hub and curation by Sharon Howard of Gang Gang Gallery. This project was funded under the Black Summer Bushfire Recovery Grants Program which is an initiative of the Commonwealth Government – National Recovery and Resilience Agency.
The initial artworks were an initiative of Lithgow Tidy Towns.
