Ben Hall Experience

Discover the story of our infamous bushranger, Ben Hall. One of Australia’s most notorious bushrangers, Hall’s three year bushranging career began in 1862 when he started associating with career bushranger, Frank Gardiner. Hall was linked with hundreds of robberiers including the heist of an escort coach at Eugowra Rocks, east of Forbes, reportedly carrying 14,000pounds worth of gold and money.

The site is now known as Escort Rock. Hall’s career came to an end at Billabong Creek near Forbes in 1865 when he was shot down by a police party. Ben Hall was buried at Forbes Cemetery two days before his 28th birthday. Take the Ben Hall Drive Tour around the district following the brochure – Tracing Ben Hall – and visit locations such as museums, the caves where he hid out, his shooting site, and final resting place.
