Between the early 1930s and mid-1970s, the Fairbridge Farm School, near Molong in western New South Wales was home to almost 1,000 orphaned or poor British children trained as farmers and servants. Build between 1915 and 1918 as part of the Meadow Creek Water Supply Scheme to expand Orange's water supply, the Pump House included a remarkably intact collection of plant equipment and tools. This plant equipment was used to pump water from Lake Canobolas to the town of Orange from 1918 to 1957.
