Cowra Eagle

Artist and year not stated.

The Cowra Eagle was originally placed where the Cowra Visitor Information Centre is today. It was moved to make way for the centre in 1987.
The design chosen was ‘rocks with an eagle on top’, which was originally the design for the Cowra Municipal Council’s corporate seal designed in 1888. It comes from the name “Coura Rocks”, one of the early names for the town.
The sculpture can still be found standing tall today near the Cowra Rose Garden adjacent to the Cowra Visitor Centre.
