Bathurst Regional Council is delighted to welcome back our visitors and to share the collections housed in the museums BATHURST venues. 3 of the 4 museums will be open 6 days per week as of Friday 5 June 2020.

National Motor Racing Museum
Reopen Wednesday 3 June
400 Panorama Avenue, Mount Panorama
Open 6 days, 9am to 4.30pm closed Tuesday
Maximum total number of people at one time: 100

Reopen Thursday 4 June

Open 6 days, 9am to 4.30pm closed Wednesday
Maximum total number of people at one time: 50

Bathurst Rail Museum
Reopen Friday 5 June
126 Havannah Street, Bathurst
Open 6 days, 9am to 4.30pm closed Thursday
Maximum total number of people at one time: 100
Kids Central (Brio gallery) will be limited to a total of 25 people with brief closures for
cleaning at 11am, 1pm and 3pm.

Chifley Home and Education Centre will remain closed in the short term to comply with social distancing requirements.

The safety of our visitors and staff is of paramount importance. Measures have been put in place to prioritise the health and well being of everyone including:

  • Creating safe environments – observing protocols to limit the number of visitors and staff within each venue, installing signage to remind people of social distancing
  • Following state and federal government instructions and guidelines  Closely monitoring guidelines to stay up to date with all information.
  • Maintaining and monitoring facilities – including ongoing revision of hygiene protocols, increased cleaning and disinfecting, and providing hand sanitiser.
  • Sharing information to help people stay safe information will be available via signage and our Museums Bathurst website

Conditions of Entry Bathurst Regional Council is committed to your health and safety and that of our staff. Being able to re-open means we have Conditions of Entry for each facility. These include asking for your name and contact details and answers to standard questions. The public is encouraged check the website
