A Blue Tree has been unveiled at Lake Pillans Wetland in the Lithgow area.
The Blue Tree Project is a nationwide charity working to break the silence and the stigma surrounding mental health and suicide.
With over 1,400+ registered trees around the globe, the program is a reminder to stop and spark up conversations about mental health and suicide prevention.
Blue Trees are beacons of hope acting as conversation starters and visual reminders to check in with yourself and others.
The Lake Pillans Blue Tree is an initiative of Suicide Awareness “Let’s Talk Lithgow”. The QR signage was generously created and installed by Logan Signs, and the metal tree was fabricated by Corrective Services Industries – Kirkconnell Correctional Centre.
The signage on the tree links to more information about the Blue Tree Project and Mental Health Resources for those who may need it.
Lithgow City Council is proud to support this wonderful initiative and to house the blue tree within the Lake Pillans Wetlands.
