Whilst we practiced social distancing, bright pops of colour have emerged in towns across the region during covid and really symboise the vitality of the people and artists in Central NSW.

Sonic Bloom
‘The Iconic’ in Sale Street Orange is home to hugely popular homewares and fashion store Jumbled (take a look at them on our handmade map for original works by Australian artists). In June 2020 they fulfilled a long held dream to put a giant, bright mural down one side of the building. ‘Sonic Bloom’ was created by artist Nastia Gladushchenko. It is a heartstopping explosion of colour bringing together native Australian flowers found in the Orange region in rich tones of mustard, pink, red and cobalt blue this mural work is a celebration of the natural world and togetherness. Orange Bowling Club Mural
Taking advantage of a Micro Grant from Arts OutWest, artist Kris Lear (8aesthetix),, who is usually found designing small batch skate clothing, spent some of his social isolation time painting a bold bright mural on a concrete wall at Orange City Bowling Club. See it on the map.
“Big shout out also to the Orange City Bowling Club and all the amazing peeps that keep stopping for a kind word and a chat ? Let’s keep the vibe going,” Kris said on Instagram.

Wool Installation, Lithgow
Due to Covid-19 there was an increase in the number of Lithgow residents who are making use of the bike ways and footpaths to improve their physical and mental well-being. “Out on a Limb” engaged the imaginations of the people of Lithgow with a new installation focused on the resilience the community. Additionally, the project provided a focal point for families and community members to connect. This project was also funded by Arts OutWest through a 2020 Micro Grant. See it on the map.
Tottenham Men’s Shed mural
Local artist Kath Fragar, supported by a grant from the NSW government’s Country Arts Support Program, created this mural. “This mural is in progress on the historic Greig Bro’s Garage. It is part of a series of historic murals commissioned to depict various snipits of history from the Tottenham NSW area.
Forbes Skate Park Mural
Bright and bold was also the theme for the new mural at Forbes Skate Park by Graffiti Muralist and Illustrator Olas One. See it on the map.
