March-April 2025: Arts OutWest’s latest Plinth Show lands at Cowra Visitor Information Centre showcasing work from Cowra Micro Gallery artists.
See work by three artists from Cowra Micro Gallery, Linda Chant l Ken Hutchinson l Brenda Stace-Chat.
Cowra Micro is an artist run initiative by Artists of Cowra East (ACE), a new art space at Cowra Railway Station. The gallery is a great example of how funding can support and grow projects and collaborations. In 2023 the new collective of artists received Country Arts Support Program (CASP) funding to test Cowra Railway Station as an arts space. This led to the establishment of the Cowra Micro Gallery and now in 2025 further development of contemporary art work for this space.
The Micro Gallery, so called for its size at 3.6m square, is situated on the northern end of the station and has been in operation for just under a year. Openings are generally on the last weekend of the month when the Lachlan Rail bring their steam trains up to the station.
“It is an art space for local artists, with a clear policy of inclusively.”
Cowra Micro Gallery: 10am to 2pm – Saturday + Sunday (Weekends only) or by appointment.

Arts OutWest’s Plinth Show will highlight a different artist, with their work displayed on portable plinths, at a different visitor information centre around the Central West each month for 12 months.
Each exhibition will consist of 1, 2 or 3 plinths. The program is designed to promote local artists and cultural tourism across our region.
