Curated by Rosby’s Kay Norton-Knight for the internationally acclaimed Rosby Gallery – Gemma Pride and Julie Laurie present two recent bodies of work that capture the stillness and drama of the everyday.
Gemma’s collection emerged from a serendipitous Instagram encounter during COVID, where she discovered Sarah-Jane Saxelby’s Room Portrait Club—a creative platform that allowed Gemma to
blend her 30 years of experience in interiors with her passion for painting. Her work reimagines the beauty of interior spaces through a unique artistic lens.
In contrast, Julie Laurie presents large-scale steel and timber sculptures crafted from the interplay of warm wood and cold steel, evoking dynamic movement and raw natural energy. Together, their work forms an innovative dialogue between painting and sculpture, celebrating creativity in unexpected forms.

ABOUT ROSBY WINES & GALLERY
Since establishing the vineyard in 1992 the Rosby name has grown to be somewhat of a cultural emblem of New South Wales’ central west through a commitment to wine, sculpture and now art.
The annual Sculptures in the Garden Exhibition, now in its 12th year, curated by founder Kay Norton-Knight, has drawn works by artists from across the Nation and with guests including the late Edmund
Capon. Annually, it sees acquisitions for the Mudgee sculpture walk and the Mid-Western Region Council public art collection.
Additionally, over the past decade Rosby have continued to run a series of Art Workshops and recently, through assistance from Destination NSW, have added a permanent cellar door and gallery to their
premises. Designed by local architecture practice, Cameron Anderson Architects, the rammed earth building extends the suite of timber and mud brick buildings located on the property while facilitating the next chapter in the Rosby story.
Now with the capacity for a year-round calendar of exhibitions, indoors and out, Rosby are giving back to the artists and arts-community that have supported them through their history while encouraging cultural tourism to the Mid-Western Region.
